Classification of solvable Lie algebras and PDEs

Abstract:
We give a short survey of some results on the symmetry classification of nonlinear wave equations in 1+1 time-space and on the symmetry classification of third-order evolution equations. The classification is carried out using  a combination of the equivalence groups of the equations studied and the standard Lie algorithm.
