This special issue explores the rich interplay between Poisson geometry, Lie theory, and symmetry. It brings together contributions on topics such as symplectic, Poisson, and Dirac geometries; Lie groupoids and Lie algebroids; G-structures; integrable systems; and deformation quantization. These are areas where Rui Loja Fernandes, together with his collaborators, has made influential and lasting contributions. The issue is dedicated to Rui on the occasion of his 60th birthday and celebrates the continued vitality and development of the fields which he has helped shape.

Topics for this issue include:

  • symplectic, Poisson and Dirac geometries;
  • Lie Groupoids and Lie algebroids;
  • G-structures;
  • integrable systems;
  • deformation quantization.
This issue is related to the conference in honor of Rui Loja Fernandes' 60th birthday (Instituto Superior Tecnico in Lisbon, June 30 – July 4, 2025).

There is no limit to the length of an article. Deadline for paper submission is March 26, 2026.

How to Submit an Article to the Issue.

All articles will go through the standard peer reviewing procedure of SIGMA.

If you have your paper ready earlier than the deadline, we encourage you to send it now. The reviewing process starts once the paper is submitted and we will publish the paper as soon as the positive publication decision is made. The paper will be indexed in the relevant databases as soon as it is published without waiting for completion of the special issue.
