On March 15, 2018, Senior Researcher of the Department of Numerical Mathematics Vitalii VASYLYK had successfully defended Doctor Dissertation "Methods without saturation of accuracy for differential equations in a Banach space with unbounded operator coefficients". Scientific consultant - Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr MAKAROV. Official opponents - Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Olexandr KHIMICH, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Roman CHAPKO and Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Myroslav KUTNIV. Additional opponent was Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Mykhailo HORODNII.


By Decree of the President of Ukraine ¹458/2017 from December 29, 2017 for work "Application of new operator-functional approaches to constructing effective numerical methods for solving modern problems of natural sciences" department staff Dmytro SYTNYK, Liliya LYSENKO and Natalya ROMANYUK were awarded the President of Ukraine prize for Young Scientists in 2017.



On November 28, 2017 Junior Researcher of the Department of Numerical Mathematics Hanna VESELOVSKA had successfully defended Kandidate Dissertation "Padé type approximants for special functions of several variables" under supervision of Doctor of Sciences A.P.GOLUB. Official opponents were Doctor of Sciences Professor D.I.BODNAR and Kandidate of Sciences A.P.MUSIYENKO.



On January 19, 2016 Junior Researcher of the Department of Numerical Mathematics Natalia ROMANYUK had successfully defended Kandidate Dissertation "Functional-discrete method of solution of spectral problems with multiple eigenvalues" under supervision of Academician of NASU V.L.MAKAROV. Official opponents were Corresponding Member of NASU O.M.KHIMICH and Doctor of Sciences B.M.PODLEVSKII.



On December 1, 2015 Junior Researcher of the Department of Numerical Mathematics Dmytro SEMBER had successfully defended Kandidate Dissertation "Functional-discrete method of solution of nonlinear Klein–Gordon equation" under supervision of Academician of NASU V.MAKAROV. Official opponents were Doctor of Sciences Professor M.V.KUTNIV and Kandidate of Sciences V.BILENKO. Additional opponent - Corresponding Member of NASU O.M.KHIMICH.



On February 17, 2015 Junior Researcher of the Department of Numerical Mathematics Lilia CHERNETSKA had successfully defended Kandidate Dissertation "Generalized moment representations and rational approximations of functions of several variables" under supervision of Doctor of Sciences A.P.GOLUB. Official opponents were Doctor of Sciences Professor D.I.BODNAR and Kandidate of Sciences O.M.SUS'.
