On Complexity and Symmetry

Abstract:
Numerous definitions for complexity have been proposed over the last half century, with little consensus achieved on how to use the term. Herein different approaches in problem of objects' and phenomena's complexity are considered, and many of them make clear the interconnection between complexity of the object and symmetry presence in it. We analyze either common questions related to the wide range of different objects and phenomena or more particular problems with definitions for complexity of concrete objects such as sequences of symbols and graphical objects which emerges in different fields of science.
