An elastodynamic state for the solutions of axial symmetric problems

Abstract:
The fundamental solution is used for axial symmetric transient problems in BEM formulation. To check the formulation, a sample problem has been solved both plane strain and plane stress. The strong singularity of the resulting  integral equation has been reduced to weak form. Numerical solution of this integral equation is compatible with the results given by Kromm for plane stress. Besides, new formulation provides to determine the initial velocity for a transient loading. Some differences have been introduced for the use of generalized functions.
