Symmetry and Point Form Relativistic Quantum Mechanics

Abstract:
The  analysis of electron scattering using point form relativistic quantum mechanics is reviewed. Recent calculations of elastic form factors for the deuteron and nucleon using phenomenological mass and current operators are presented. The relations between four momentum and current operators are then rewritten in such a way as to exhibit an underlying algebraic structure;  the possibility of using this symmetry as an alternative to dynamical calculations is discussed.
