Generalised symmetry and reduction of nonlinear mathematical physics equations

Abstract:
We consider the possibilities for extension of application of symmetry to partial differential equations. We use operators of generalised symmetry to reduce given partial differential equations to systems of ordinary differential equations. The method is applied to nonlinear evolution and wave-type (hyperbolic) equations.
