On the Tzitzeica equation symmetries' relation to the Novikov-Veselov hierarchy

Abstract:
We show that the two-dimensional Schrödinger operator naturally connects to the Tzitzeica equation and that its iso-spectral deformations given by the Novikov-Veselov hierarchy correspond to the symmetries of this equation.
